Hello, I am Michael C. Barnes, President and Director of nOrhTec. Allow me to give you a guided tour of the Panda PC.

Many computers today dominate the desk. They use up hundreds of Watt of energy--pouring out heat through their noisy fans. Those of us that are forced to sit in front of computers all day long are forced to listen to swishhhhhhhh all day long while fans try to circulate enough air to cool down the power supply and the components in the computer.

The computer that we had been working on is smaller, uses less energy, produces less noise and generates less heat than most computers. This computer is smaller than even the typical Micro ATX or Flex ATX computers. This computer will be an ideal computer for multimedia. It has a TV output so you can use the computer as a silent DVD player. We have even integrated a SPDIF output so you can output the audio into your standard processor. The unit will come standard with a DVD, 256 MB RAM and 60 GB of disk. The system will include audio, 10/100BaseT, TV and SVHS output, integrated AGP video, 4 USB, RS232, printer port, game port, keyboard and mouse.

The Panda PC will be one of the smallest fully functional desktop computers available. Today, most computers have a processor fan, video card fan, power supply fan and a fan for the case. All of these fans create noise. The Panda's advanced design requires only a single fan which comes on when needed (more on this later).

The Panda PC is designed to be a friendly computer. The Panda PC is energy efficient, small, silent and stylish. The Panda PC is one of the best multi-media based computers available. The silent design allows the Panda PC to be used in a home entertainment system silently.

The Panda PC offers audio performance simply not available from other PCs. The sound quality is comparable to a high-end CD player. In fact, the S/N ratio for the Panda PC is better than all but the very most expensive CD players on the market.

The Panda PC integrates six channel sound and MPEG II. The combination of these features makes the Panda PC one of the most impressive home entertainment products ever.

The Panda PC is ideal for students, offices, home entertainment and because the Panda PC comes with a AC/DC power supply, the Panda PC is also ideal to be used as part of a telematics server.

While the Panda PC is friendly, it is also tough. The Panda PC is made from aluminum and has four large rubber bumpers to isolate the Panda PC from shock and vibrations.

The Panda PC can use a 2.5 inch hard disk and slimline optical drive. While these devices are more costly than standard size devices, they enable the Panda to be quieter, smaller and more energy efficient.

The Panda PC does not require a fan for normal operation. A large, quiet 82mm fan has been mounted in the case and is controlled by a thermostat. Should the temperature inside the Panda ever become too hot, the fan would come on briefly to make sure that the Panda does not get too hot.

The PandaPC is very easy to use. If you install Microsoft's Windows XP, the Panda PC will operate fully without having to load any additional drivers. The Panda PC includes four USB ports and a 10/100 Base T port.

NorhTec has gone one step farther with the Panda. While the Panda is ideal for Microsoft Windows, NorhTec will offer the Panda PC fully configured with a special version of Linux that is configured to be the easiest to use system you have ever seen. NorhTec will install and configure each Panda PC with all the applications any office can ever want. The environment and operations will be keystroke and mouse click compatible with the world's most popular environment to a degree no other Linux system has been before.

Even more exciting, for those who already have or who acquire legal licenses for Microsoft Office 97 or 2000, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Media Player, NorhTec will install these applications, for a small additional fee.

Each Panda PC will include software that will allow every workstation to be administered remotely. We will offer training to system integrators so that they will be able to effectively service and support an entire network of computers from a central location.

The Panda PC is the ideal home entertainment computer as it is small and efficient and quiet. You can play DVDs, CDs browse the web and burn CDs using the Panda PC.

The Panda PC will sell for $495.00. This includes a 60GB hard disk, 256 MB RAM, and a slim DVD drive.

NorhTec will offer a variety of options for the Panda PC. We will also offer inexpensive wireless networks, LCD monitors and multimedia devices.

So why do we call it the Panda? Simple - Look at the picture at top. Our very functional form abstractly resembles a panda when observed from the top.

We are able to create vents inside the case that allows air to flow over the areas where circulation is needed. For special applications, we can design the product to have no fans. In other cases, we can use an ultra quiet fan that will cool the entire system.

Because of the unit's size and because of how quiet it is, the Panda is an ideal choice for a home or dorm computer. The Panda has a TV out. This means that you can use it as a set-top box or as a device to access the network from your PC. Because the Panda draw so little power and makes so little noise, it is ideal for applications where a system must stay on 24 hours a day. The Panda is well suited to integrate into a multi-media environment. A Panda can replace a DVD player, CD player, set-top box, gateway, firewall, and dedicated game machine. An optional card allows you to watch TV and listen to stereo FM directly from the Panda.

Every Panda has a built in 10/100BaseT port so that they can be easily networked (out of the box). The Panda is extremely well integrated and exceptionally well made. The Panda is designed for quiet, energy efficient trouble free operation.

While the Panda is very functional, it is also stylish. Let's face it, most of us spend more time with our computers than we would like.
