NorhTec proudly introduces the Microserver High Performance (HP). The Microserver HP is small, rugged, silent and powerful. The Microserver HP is only 5.5 x 7 x 2 inches yet it is powerful enough to run the latest desktop and server operating systems.

The Microserver HP is silent because it has no fans. This allows the Microserver to be used in locations not suitable for convention computers that require a clean well ventilated environment to operate. The entire case of the Microserver HP acts like a giant heat sink. The case is made entirely out of aluminum. While there are other small computers on the market, most of are noisy, run very hot and use plastic cases.

The Microserver HP enables networked computing to move off the desktop and into completely new environments. The Microserver HP supports the latest and legacy versions of Microsoft Windows as well as popular Linux and BSD distributions.

The Microsever HP comes standard with 256 MB RAM and a 20 GB hard disk. The Microserver HP also provides the ability to support solid state Compact Flash and can boot and operate directly off the Compact Flash.

The Microserver is very energy efficient. While standard desktop computers can use as much as 300 or more watts, the Microserver HP requires only 15 watts to operate and can operate from a single 5 volt input.

Despite the Microserver HP's small size, it is packed with I/O. The Microserver HP can support one or two 10/100BaseTs, allowing the Microserver to act as a powerful gateway, firewall or server. The Microserver HP also features sound in and out, lpt, XVGA, RS232, 2 x USB, and PS/2 Keyboard and mouse. There is a slot for CF memory and internally a header for a second RS232 (RS485 compatible).

Internally, the Microsever features support for LVDS and PC/104. This allows NorhTec to build custom configurations of the Microserver HP to meet just about any computing requirement. Custom configurations are possible because NorhTec does all our own mechanical engineering.

The Microserver HP is the ideal computer to bring network computing into the automobile. The Microserver HP has a smaller footprint than most laptops. The Microserver HP can easily be integrated with GPS, mobile communications and small VGA screens. The Microserver HP is far more affordable than existing solutions used by fire departments, police and other mobile professionals. The cost of the Microserver HP is competitive with existing desktop solutions but its small size and rugged packaging open up new possibilities never possible previously.

The Microserver HP is ideal for any environment where fans are not practical. This includes any environment where dust, dirt or moisture is a problem. The Microserver HP does not need to circulate are inside the computer. The case is the heat sink so outside air never has to enter the computer. The Microserver HP is probably the perfect computer for hospitals. The Microserver HP can be rolled put into an operating room and then wiped down with disinfectant. Most computers will suck in or blow air which is not ideal for operating rooms. The Microserver HP is the ideal computer to bring into clean rooms as it never moves air.

The Microserver HP is the ideal Point of Sale device. The Microserver HP never sucks in dust or dirt that cause other POS systems to break down prematurely.
