Product Tour

The MicroServer is based on the new SiS 55x processor. This processor integrates all the functions of a multimedia PC onto a single chip. In our implementation, we have created one of the most fully functional "all-in-one" packages ever. The NorhTec Microserver GP+ is a fully integrated multimedia server that is one of the smallest Pentium class computers in the world.

NorhTec Microservers are based on a technology called System on Chip (SoC). System on Chip puts all the functions found on a motherboard (processing, I/O, and peripheral support) on a single chip.

NorhTec's first microservers are based on the SiS 55x SoC. The SiS 55x is a x86 MMX compatible CPU that offers superscaler execution and a pipelined floating point unit. The SIS 55x has three superpipelined Inter Units. This means that for a given clock cycle, the SiS 55x can execute more than one instruction. For example, at 100 Mhz, the SiS 55x offers the same computational power as a 233Mhz MMX. In the picture below, you can see our custom designed casing and heatsink that makes the GP/GP+ fan-less.

The Microserver GP and GP+ can be configured as a small, very energy efficient thin client. The thin client version can support both RDP 4.0 or RDP 5.2 (optional) for Microsoft applications and XDMCP for Unix and Linux applications. For more details on our thin client solution, please see Channel.

Special version of the GP and GP+ thin client soluitons can be configured for banking, hotel reservations systems, kiosks and other specific applications. Write to us for details and pricing.

The Microserver GP and GP+ can support the following resolutions:

640 x 480, 800 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 576, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 720, 1280 x 1024,
1600 x 1400, 1920 x 1440, 2048 x 1536.

The Microserver GP and GP+ are among the smallest and least expensive solutions to drive large HDTV format screens. This makes the Microserver GP ideal for advertising and promotion.

External power supply - AC (85 - 240 volts) / DC (5 volts).

The GP/GP+ consume only 3.8 Watts with solid state disk and 7.5 Watts (max) with a 2.5 inch hard disk. The GP/GP+ do not require fans - we use our custom-built heat sinks (shown in above picture).

The MicroServer GP+ has these additional features:

1 NTSC or PAL video in (frame grabber)
1 NTSC or PAL TV out
Support for two VGA displays - possibly saving the cost of a second computer

Back Panel of the GP
